PRAGUE, August, 2021

Czech teenager Dalibor Svrcina captured his maiden title on the ATP Challenger Tour on home soil by winning the TK Sparta Prague Open 2021 hosted by TK Sparta Prague. The champion of the 2018 Australian Open Boys’ doubles title alongside Jonas Forojtek defeated Dmitry Popko from Kazakhstan 6-0, 7-5 in Sunday’s singles final.

Wild card entry Svrcina advanced to the title match of the €31,440 clay-court event with wins over Timofey Skatov of Kazakhstan, Spanish veteran Adrian Menendez-Maceiras, Frenchman Evan Furness and his compatriot Forojtek.

The 18-year-old Ostrava native converted six of his 11 break-point chances and won 25 points more than Popko to secure victory in one hour and 38 minutes.

Svrcina, who lifted his first singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour also at home in Most in late May, earned €5,150 in prize money as well as 50 ATP Ranking points.

The World No. 424 has become the eighth teen Challenger Tour titlist this season after Carlos Alcaraz of Spain, Argentine Juan Manuel Cerundolo, Spaniard Carlos Gimeno Valero, Jiri Lehecka of the Czech Republic, US-American Brandon Nakashima, Holger Rune of Denmark and Swiss Dominic Stricker.

By lifting their second Challenger doubles trophies following their maiden triumph on home soil in Liberec two years ago, Forejtek and Vrbensky split €2,000 in prize money and pocketed 50 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
