Kirschbaum International Main Draw Is Set

On day two of the qualifying at the Teremeer Sports and Tennis Resort in Meerbusch, the main draw ceremony for the Just Pools Kirschbaum International, an ITF World Tennis Tour M25 event, took place.

Molleker leads German contingent

Top seed Rudolf Molleker, champion of the 2018 Neckarcup in Heilbronn, will open his title bid on Wednesday. The 20-year-old World No. 240 will face his compatriot Elmar Ejupovic.

Tobias Simon, unofficial world-record holder with 52 aces in a best-of-three match at the Challenger event in Ortisei 2018, and Louis Wessels will both take on a qualifier in the first round.

Former ITF No. 1 Peter Heller will oppose Norwegian No. 5 seed Viktor Durasovic.

Lucas Gerch, who played college tennis for the Oklahoma State University, will challenge Swiss Davis-Cup competitor Sandro Ehrat.

Marvin Möller, Alexander Mannapov and teenager Max Rehberg, who is currently ranked No. 40 in ITF Juniors, have been awarded a wild card. Seventeen-year-old Rehberg will challenge Czech No. 3 seed Michael Vrbensky.

Vrbensky will be joined by his fellow countrymen Jiri Lehecka and Vaclav Safranek. No. 2 seed Lehecka and No. 6 seed Safranek will both meet a qualifier in the opening round.

Qualifying Finals on Tuesday

The main draw of the Kirschbaum International, which is part of the DTB Internationals powered by Wilson, will be completed by eight qualifiers on Tuesday morning. The top two seeds Alexey Vatutin from Russia and David Pichler from Austria booked their spot in the final round of the qualifying as well as No. 4 seed Mats Rosenkranz, who will face his German compatriot Milan Welte.

Qualifying action in Meerbusch will begin at 10:00 a.m local time followed by the start of the singles and doubles main draw.
