Pedro Martinez and Jaume Munar will meet in an all-Spanish championship match of the AnyTech365 Marbella Tennis Open held at the Puento Romano Tennis Club in Marbella on Sunday. No. 2 seed Martinez defeated compatriot Carlos Taberner 6-4, 6-2 in Saturday’s semi-final. The World No. 93 converted five of his six break-point chances to advance in one hour and 31 minutes.

“I am very satisfied and happy with the work I am doing,” Martinez said. “I think that I played a good level in all the matches. This is what helped me to win the matches whatever happens.”

Earlier in the day, No. 6 seed Munar beat Frenchman Alexandre Muller 6-4, 6-4. The 23-year-old from Mallorca won 10 points more than his opponent to prevail after one hour and 28 minutes.

“I am very happy to be in another final,” said Munar, who captured his fifth ATP Challenger title in Lisbon two weeks ago. “I didn’t play my best level today, but the important thing is to try to be solid when things are not going very well, and I have succeeded.”

Martinez and Munar will meet for the third time and for the first time since 2016. Their head-to-head record is tied at 1-1.

In other action, Gerard Granollers and Pedro Martinez captured the doubles title. The all-Spanish combination defeated Luis David Martinez from Venezuela and Fernando Romboli of Brazil 6-3, 6-4. The encounter lasted one hour and two minutes.
