Steven Diez and Tita Torró are the new National Singles Champions of Spain.

Diez, who was born in Toronto but raised primarily in Spain and lives in Barcelona, captured the crown of the 102nd edition, winning the final 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 against 18-year-old Jaume Munar from Mallorca. The current world number 384 took three ITF Future titles this season and ends the year by stopping the good run of his opponent, who knocked out the tournament’s top-seed Tommy Robredo on Tuesday.

Tita Torró captured the women’s title. The world number 127 from Alicante led 2-6, 7-6, 1-0 when her opponent Lourdes Dominguez was forced to retire due to injury. Torró lifted her second national trophy after winning the tournament in 2012.
