Adrian Mannarino is the champion of the Abierto GNP Seguros held at the Fraccionamiento Club Sonoma Residencial in Monterrey. The top seed of the $108,320 ATP Challenger hard-court event defeated Aleksandar Vukic of Australia 6-1, 6-3 in Sunday’s singles final.
Mannarino, who did not drop more than four games in a set all tournament, sent down eight aces in the championship match and saved both break points he faced. The 31-year-old Frenchman capitalized on four of his own seven break point opportunities to prevail after 59 minutes.

“It was very good to be here, I really didn’t expect it. I am very happy, it would definitely be a pleasure to be back,” wild card entry Mannarino said during his post-match press conference.
By lifting his 14th career trophy on the ATP Challenger Tour, his first since Quimper, France in 2017, Mannarino took away from Mexico $14,400 in prize money as well as 100 ATP Ranking points.
Earlier on Estadio GNP Seguros, Karol Drzewiecki of Poland and Goncalo Oliveira from Portugal took the doubles title. The unseeded duo edged past the tournament’s No. 4 seeded Brazilians Orlando Luz and Rafael Matos 6-7(5), 6-4, 11-9. The final lasted one hour and 38 minutes. Drzewiecki and Oliveira split $6,200 in prize money.
