Following the Dunlop Bavarian Junior Winter Championships, the Daikin Open 2020 will be held from February 16 to 23. The fifth edition of the ITF World Tennis Tour M15 event is the second stop of the German indoor swing, being part of the DTB Internationals presented by Wilson.

World No. 393 Jan Satral from the Czech Republic will lead the field. The 29-year-old, who already lifted two singles trophies on the ATP Challenger Tour in addition to his nine titles on the ITF World Tennis Tour, reached position 136 as a career high in 2016.

The tournament’s second favourite will be Mick Veldheer, currently ranked World No. 524. The 24-year-old Dutch, who is based at the Estess Tennis Academy in Seefeld, captured his maiden title on the ITF Pro Circuit in Heraklion last season.

Dominik Böhler, defending champion of the hard-court tournament, will be joined by a strong contingent of German fellows. Marvin Netuschil, Elmar Ejupovic, Mats Rosenkranz, Paul Woerner and Stefan Seifert will also enter the main draw by direct acceptance.

Wild cards have been awarded to Marvin Möller and the three youngsters of the Bavarian Tennis Federation Jeremy Schifris, Max Rehberg and Nico Kleber. Seventeen-year-old Kleber earned the wild card by winning the title of the Rudi-Berger-Cup, held during last year’s BMW Open by FWU in Munich.
