BANGALORE, October 25, 2015

The two top-seeds went head to head in the final of the Air Asia Open US-$ 50,000 ATP Challenger event with the tournament’s number two eventually taking the title, when James Ward defeated Adrian Menendez-Maceiras 6-2, 7-5 on Sunday.

The 28-year-old Brit fired 14 aces and won 92% of his first service points to achieve his first win over the Spaniard in their fourth tour meeting after one hour and 22 minutes.

Ward captured his fourth ATP Challenger trophy, his first since winning the title in Lexington 2013. The world number 159 takes away US-$ 7,200 as well as 80 ATP ranking points.

Special trohy for the champion in Bangalore

On Saturday, all-Indian-combination of Saketh Myneni and Sanam Singh clinched the doubles title winning the final 5-7, 6-4, 10-2 against John Paul Fruttero from the United States and N Vijay Sundar Prashanth from India in one hour and 25 minutes.
