Sousa Clinches Challenger Title In Blois

Pedro Sousa captured his sixth ATP Challenger title. The top seed from Portugal rallied past Belgiums’s Kimmer Coppejans 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(4) in Sunday’s singles final of the €46,600 Internationaux de Tennis de Blois, held on clay at AAJB Tennis.

Sousa broke his opponent’s serve three times, winning 52 per cent of the total points played to seal victory in two hours and five minutes. The 31-year-old earned in France €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP-Ranking points.

Earlier in the day, Corentin Donelly and Alexandre Muller delighted the home crowd lifting the doubles trophies. The unseeded all-French combination fought past No. 4 seeds Sergio Galdos of Peru and Andreas Siljestrom from Sweden 7-5, 6-7(5), 10-6. The encounter lasted one hour and 42 minutes.
