13th edition of the Moselle Open kicks-off on Monday

The main draw of the 13th edition of the Moselle Open will start on Monday in les Arènes de Metz, located in the city’s centre, to where the tournament returned last year after it had taken place at Metz Expo three times before. The ATP 250 World Tour event provides € 439,405 in total prize money and takes place from the 19-27 September.

Top seed of the Moselle Open is world number 4  Stan Wawrinka, who takes part in the tournament for the first time. Current French number one and second seed Gilles Simon participates for the seventh time and won the tournament in 2010 and 2013. Like Jo-Wilfried Tsonga – who is the third seed and claimed the title in 2011 and 2012 – he could become a triple champion in 2015. Fourth seed is Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.

3 wild cards were granted to Fernando Verdasco, Pierre Hugues-Herbert and Philipp Kohlschreiber.

The final round of the qualification will also take place on Monday: Kenney de Schepper who defeated Hugo Nys 7-6(2), 7-5 in one hour and 32 minutes will face Constant Lestiennes, who overcame Gregoire Jaqc 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and 16 minutes. Edouard Roger-Vasselin defeated Michel Venus 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and 11 minutes and will play against Enzo Couacaud, who took over Filip Verger with 6-2, 6-4 in 55 minutes. Daniel Brands, who secured victory against Sadio Doumbia 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and five minutes will face Mischa Zverev, who defeated Teri Groll 6-1, 6-4 in 58 minutes. In an-all-French-match Vincent Millot – who beat Tom Schonenberg 6-4, 6-4 in one hour 16 minutes – will take on Maxime Teixeira, who defeated Laurent Rochette 6(2)-7, 6-1, 6-4 in two hours and 18 minutes.

The opening match of the main draw will feature the first tour meeting of Gilles Muller and Aljaz Bedene on Monday evening.
