Alessandro Giannessi clinched his first title of the season. The No. 9 seed won the €46,600 Internazioanli Di Tennis – Citta Di Vicenza held on clay court at the Tennis Palladio 98. Giannessi emerged victorious from Sunday’s all-Italian final with No. 8 seed Filippo Baldi, winning 7-5, 6-2.

Giannessi advanced to the title match with wins over compatriots Federico Gaio and Gianluca Mager, as well as Adrian Menendez-Maceiras of Spain and Australia’s Marc Polmans.

By lifting his third ATP Challenger trophy, he takes away from the Veneto region in northeastern Italy €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP-Ranking points. Giannessi previously won the titles in Szczecin, Poland in 2016 and Banja Luka, Bosnia & Herzegovina last year.

On Saturday, Goncalo Oliveira of Portugal and Andrei Vasilevski from Belarus took the doubles title. The top seeds defeated the all-Brazilian combination of Fabricio Neis and Fernando Romboli 6-3, 6-4. The encounter lasted one hour and 10 minutes.
