Pedro Cachín captured his first ATP Challenger title, winning the 25th final of the € 42,500 Copa Sevilla beating defending champion Pablo Carreῆo-Busta on Saturday’s final 7-5, 6-3.

In front of about 1,200 spectators, the 20-year-old Argentine, who lifted two ITF Futures trophies in 2014, won 70% of his second service points and capitalized on five of his eight break point chances to seal victory in one hour and 31 minutes.

Cachín took away € 6,150 in prize money as well as 90 ATP ranking points to gain a new career high 165th position on Monday and is going to play in Banja Luka next.

After claiming 11 Challenger titles, the 24-year-old Spanish top-seed lost his first ever final but thanked the spectators for their support. “You filled the stands at every match I played this week and made me feel like home. It is difficult to find a tournament you feel as good as in Seville,” Carreῆo-Busta told and will be seeded on first position in Szczecin next week.
