Pouille Leads Semi-Finals Line-Up In Bordeaux

BORDEAUX, May 3, 2019

The semi-finals of the €114,800 BNP Paribas Primrose in Bordeaux are set. Top seed Lucas Pouille will lead Saturday’s line-up following a 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 win over fellow Frenchman Quentin Halys in the stage of the final eight.

The World No. 32 withstood 23 aces, breaking his opponent’s serve three times to prevail after one hour and 31 minutes. Pouille, who is competing in his first ATP Challenger event since Guadalajara 2016 and is seeking his first title, will next take on No. 4 seed Gregoire Barrere. The 25-year-old from France defeated Gianluca Mager of Italy 6-1, 7-6(1) in one hour and 25 minutes.

Mannarino, Tsonga fall

Filip Horansky caused the upset of the day by knocking out No. 3 seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. The 26-year-old from Slovakia saved six of the seven break points he faced, capitalizing on three of his own nine chances to seal a 6-4, 6-4 victory in one hour and 12 minutes. Up next for Horansky will be Mikael Ymer. The #NextGenATP player from Sweden beat No. 2 seeded Frenchman Adrian Mannarino 7-5, 7-5 in just under two hours of play.
