Ugo Humbert has clinched the last ATP Challenger of the year. The 20-year-old Frenchman won the 2018 Andria E Castel Del Monte Challenger. Humbert, the top seed of the €43,000 hard-court event in southern Italy, defeated local favourite Filippo Baldi 6-4, 7-6(3) in Sunday’s singles final at Palasport.

The World No. 100 from France was in control of the encounter, didn’t face a break point, capitalizing on one of his own five chances to prevail after one hour and 26 minutes.

By lifting his third ATP Challenger trophy of the season, Humbert earns €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP-Ranking points. He will finish the season at a new career-high World No. 84, being the youngest Frenchman inside the Top 100.
