Gakhov Wins Karlsruhe Open

Ivan Gakhov is the champion of the Karlsruhe Open. The top seeded Russian defeated Paul Wörner of Germany 7-6(4), 6-3 in Sunday’s singles final of the $15,000 ITF Pro Circuit clay-court event.

Gakhov capitalized on three of his six break point chances to secure victory in one hour and 58 minutes.

By lifting his eighth ITF Pro Circuit title, his first of the season, Gakhov collects $2,160 in prize money as well as 18 ATP ranking points.

Due to the changes on the ITF Pro Circuit, organizers of the tournament announced to increase the total prize money to $25,000 next year.
