RECANATI, July 20, 2015

The ATP Challenger Tour has arrived in Recanati for the € 42,500 hard court event, taking place from July 18 to July 26.

Since 2003, the Guzzini Challenger has been played on the courts of the Francesco Guzzini tennis club. The complex has four fast courts (of which are two indoors), a clubhouse with a restaurant and panoramic terrace facing the centre court, a gym as well as a playground for children. Centre Court has two stands with a capacity of nearly 1,000 seats. There is free admission for the entire duration of the tournament.

As it is Italy’s sole tournament during the summer months, which is not held on clay, only six locals can be found in the main draw. With Stefano Napolitano, Matteo Berrettini and Giacomo Miccini, three of them have been granted a wild card.

The tournament’s first-seed Ricardas Berankis, who will face French qualifier Sebastian Boltz in the opening round, is one of only two players ranked inside the top 100.

Second seed and world number 95 Ruben Bemelmans will take on David Perez-Sanz. Third favourite Michal Przysiezny is playing against lucky loser Chuhan Wang from China and the tournament’s number four Alexander Kudryavtsev will meet with Alexander Lazov.
