Roger Federer and Marin Cilic put on an Australian Open final for the ages in 2018, with the Swiss champion eventually prevailing 6-2 6-7(5) 6-3 3-6 6-1.
On a hot Australian summer’s night, Federer and Cilic both played a phenomenally high-quality match on Rod Laver Arena, with the legendary Rod Laver watching on.
The match is just one of many classic matches that the Australian Open is featuring on its YouTube and socials channels, leading up to the 2019 Grand Slam tournament.
It was the second Australian Open in a row for Federer, and his 20th Grand Slam in total.
“Winning is an absolute dream come true,” he told the crowd after the match.
