Two seeded players were left in the draw on quarterfinals Friday at the ATP Challenger Internazionali di Tennis dell’Umbria in Todi.

Top seed Aljaz Bedene had no problems to beat Germain Gigounon, 6-4, 6-1. The British number two only had to save one break point and capitalized on five of his own to reach the semi-finals after 66 minutes.

Bedene will face Marco Cecchinato, who defeated Stephane Robert, winning 6-3, 7-5. The in-form-Italian, who played his fifth quarterfinal in a row, hit five aces and capitalized on three of his five break points to prevail in one hour and 22 minutes.

The tournament’s number six Alejandro Gonzalez lost to Nicolas Kicker 3-6, 2-6. The 22-year-old Argentine won 79% of his first service points and broke his opponent’s service four times to close the match after one hour and 31 minutes.

Kicker made it into his first ATP Challenger semi-finals facing Matteo Donati. The qualifier won the all-Italian-affair against Andrea Arnaboldi, winning 7-6, 6-4. Donati didn’t face a break point to seal victory in one hour and 34 minutes to play his second semi-final of the season, after he had reached the final in Napoli in April.
