Depending on allegiances, World No. 787 Nik Razborsek of Slovenia was the hero or the heartbreaker on the final day of the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Group II Relegation Play-Offs in Portoroz. The 24-year-old from Ljubljana clinched the decisive point for the hosts to seal a 3-2 victory over Turkey.

Razborsek defeated Altug Celikbilek 7-5, 6-3 on Sunday afternoon. He capitalized on four of his 12 break point chances to prevail after one hour and 33 minutes.

Earlier in the day, Aljaz Bedene first lost in doubles alongside Tom Kocevar-Desman 3-6, 6-3, 3-6 to Cem Ilkel and Anil Yuksel. Then the World No. 48 beat Cem Ilkel in the reverse singles rubber 7-6, 6-2 in one hour and 30 minutes to give Slovenia the 2-1 lead.

Slovenia will now remain in Group II Europe/Africa of the Davis Cup.
