Heyman And Doumbia To Meet In MLP Cup Final In Nußloch

Christopher Heyman and Sadio Doumbia will go head to head in Sunday’s singles final of the $25,000 Internationale Herrentennismeisterschaften der Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar um den MLP Cup 2018, held at the Racket Center in Nußloch.

Heyman fought past fifth seed Jan Choinski of Germany 6-4, 4-6, 7-6. The 24-year-old Belgian capitalized on four of his 13 break point opportunities to prevail after two hours and 34 minutes.

Doumbia eased past Robin Kern from Germany 6-4, 6-1. The World No. 490 of France sent down three aces, winning 77 per cent of his first service points to advance in 68 minutes.

Both players eye their maiden title of the season. Heyman and Doumbia will meet for the first time.

Earlier in the day, Kevin Krawietz from Germany and Ruan Roelofse of South Africa captured the doubles title with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Argentine Pedro Cachín and Daniel Masur of Germany. The top seeds finished the encounter in exactly one hour of play.
