Gombos Prevails In Orléans

Norbert Gombos battled past Frenchman Julien Benneteau to clinch the title of the €127,000 Open d’Orléans. The fourth seed from Slovakia won 6-3, 5-7, 6-2.

Gombos fired 14 aces, winning 73 per cent of his first service points. He won 52 per cent of the total points played to seal victory in just under two hours of play.

Gobos celebrated his fifth ATP Challenger career title, his first of the season, and takes away €18,290 in prize money as well as 125 ATP ranking points.

Argentines Guillermo Duran and Andres Molteni took the doubles title, winning the final 6-3, 6-7, 13-11 over Frenchmen Jonathan Eysseric and Tristan Lamasine. The encounter lasted one hour and 48 minutes.
