MEERBUSCH, June 20 ,2017

The organizers of the Bucher Reisen Tennis Grand Prix held in Meerbusch from 12 to 20 August 2017 announced Tuesday a new partnership with the RAFA NADAL SPORTS CENTRE, based in Manacor.

The RAFA NADAL SPORTS CENTRE is located on the east coast of Mallorca in natural surroundings just ten minutes from the sea and 30 minutes from Palma’s international airport and offers first class sports facilities.

Marc Raffel, tournament director of the ATP Challenger event, established the contact with Toni Nadal, director of the Rafa Nadal Academy. Back in 2002, Rafael Nadal was part of Raffel’s team Blau Weiß Neuss in the German Tennis Bundesliga. “Rafa remembers this time pretty well,” Raffel is happy and got in touch with the current marketing director of the Academy, Miguel Gonzalez, to seal the deal in May.

The RAFA NADAL SPORTS CENTRE will present the entire variety of its services during the week of the tournament.

The Rafa Nadal Academy states that it combines tennis and education so that students can continue their pathway to professional tennis without having to neglect their academic studies. It has its own training system based on the experience acquired by former World No. 1 Rafael Nadal and his technical team during his years on the ATP World Tour, and including the values that have been fundamental to his success.

The venue comprises 26 tennis courts with different surfaces, both exterior and interior, a soccer pitch, multipurpose sports courts, swimming pools and many more.

The co-operation will be extended in 2018 with three more German ATP Challenger events in Marburg, Koblenz and Heilbronn.
