MEERBUSCH, August, 22, 2017

The organizers of the ATP Challenger event in Meerbusch announced a new partnership with local tour operator Bucher Reisen, being the new title sponsor for the tournament’s 2017 edition, held at the Sportpark Büderich from 12 to 20 August.

Bucher Reisen Tennis Grand Prix will be the official name of the $50,000 plus hospitality event, formerly known as Maserati Challenger and Cittadino Challenger. Florian Mayer captured the title last year beating fellow German Maximilian Marterer in the singles final in straight sets.

“Players can earn more ATP ranking points than ever before. Consequently, we expect in 2017 an even better line-up than in previous years,” tournament director Marc Raffel explained. He is head of a sports consulting company called M.A.R.A., which organizes tennis tournaments, manages athletes but also arranges sport journeys.

Bucher Reisen is specialized in last-minute-holidays and is part of the Thomas Cook Group Travel plc, one of the world’s leading leisure travel companies with annual sales of more than €9 billion.
