Tunisia And Sweden Tied After Day One In Tunis

TUNIS, February 3, 2017

Tunisia and Sweden are tied after Friday’s opening rubbers of their Davis Cup Group II Europe/Africa first round, held at the Tennis Courts of Cité Nationale Sportive El Menzah in Tunis this weekend.

Top ranked African, Malek Jaziri gave Tunisia the lead with 6-4, 7-5, 6-2 win over Isak Arvidsson. The 33-year-old Bezerte native won 79 per cent of his first service points and capitalized on seven of his 16 break point chances to secure victory in two hours and eight minutes.

Patrik Rosenholm fought past Mohamed Aziz Dougas, winning 7-6, 6-3, 3-6, 4-6, 6-3. The 28-year-old from Stockholm was more solid on his second serve, gaining 59 per cent of the points. Rosenholm closed the encounter after three hours and 40 minutes.

On Saturday, Anis Ghorbel and Malek Jaziri will team up for Tunisia to take on Swedish doubles specialists Johan Brunstrom and Andreas Siljestrom.
