The $75,000 SportMaster Tennis Championships of Maui came to an end on Sunday with Hyeon Chung of Korea winning in straight sets over Taro Daniel from Japan.

In the first set, it was all Daniel as he went two breaks, 5-2 on Chung. Miraculously, Chung kept his head in the game to get back on serve and eventually take the set to a tiebreak and win the set. The next set was all Chung. Chung didn’t allow Daniel to get any rhythm and would eventually take the championship 7-6, 6-1 in one hour and 29 minutes.

“He dominated pretty well this week,” complimented Daniel. “I thought the level of the match was pretty decent and I’ll go away from this week pretty satisfied.”

In a brief post-match interview, a relieved Chung thanked his team, parents, and fans. By claiming his eighth ATP Challenger crown, the 19-year-old takes away $10,800 in prize money as well as 80 ATP ranking points.
