Media representatives open tennis courts at Munich Airport

Great venue for playing tennis – the airport in Munich

MUNICH, April 1, 2015

No, this wasn’t an April fool’s joke – five degrees Celsius outside, a windstorm over Germany and the media representatives were invited by the organizers of the BMW Open by FWU AG to take part in a tennis tournament at the Airport in Munich taking place on two courts between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

What sounds like to be a nightmare on a Tuesday morning, emerged as a proper fun activity. 16 players, including BMW Open organizer Michael Mronz, with different capabilities played doubles with golden rackets made of wood and enjoyed the tennis as well as the looks from hundreds of travellers passing by.

The two courts will remain there until April 20 and will be open to everyone, who wants to play. There will be also a social programme including practice sessions with coaches from the ITTC Iphitos in Munich highlighted by a doubles match with Alexander Zverev on April 16 and a kid’s clinic with Tommy Haas two days later.
