The Davis Cup Zone Group I relegation play-off tie between Israel and Sweden is going to take place on hard court from 28 to 30 October at the Canada Stadium in Ramat Hasharon.

Hosts Israel nominated the experience of Dudi Sela in singles and Jonathan Erlich in doubles as they take on a youthful Swedish team at the central coastal strip in the south of the Sharon region, bordering Tel Aviv to the south. Amir Weintraub and Edan Leshem complete the Israeli team.

The Swedish squad will be led by 20-year-old Elias Ymer, joined by fellow youngsters Isak Arvidsson and Fred Simonsson, world number 456 Markus Eriksson as well as doubles specialist Johan Brunström, as the Swedes look to maintain their place in the second tier of the competition.

Elias’ younger brother Mikael Ymer will not compete in the tie, struggling with a hip injury and needs to undergo MRI procedures before playing five-set-matches again.

The all-time head-to-head record between the two teams is tied at 1-1. Sweden defeated Israel here in Ramat Hasharon at world group stage back in 2008 3-2. Israel took revenge one year later at Baltic Hall in Malmo, winning with the same result.

In the second Zone Group I relegation play-off tie the Dominican Republic will host Barbados at the Centro Nacional De Tenis Parque Del Este in Santo Domingo.
