Toby Samuel was crowned champion of the ITC Crete Challenger. The No. 5 seed of the ATP Challenger Tour hard-court tournament emerged victorious from Sunday’s all-British singles final, winning 6-3, 6-0 against Harry Wendelken.
Samuel sent down four aces and won 77 per cent of his first-service points. The 23-year-old Winchester native saved four of the five break points he faced and converted five of his own 13 break-point opportunities to prevail after 70 minutes.

Samuel earned his third ATP Challenger Tour career title following his triumphs last year in Soma Bay, Egypt and Manama, Bahrain. The world No. 244 pocketed € 8,550 in prize money as well as 50 ATP Ranking points.
The ITC Crete Challenger was organized by International Tennis Coaching (I.T.C.), the company founded by Apostolos Tsitsipas, and hosted by the Lyttos Beach Sports Center. It offered a total prize pool €56,700. Located in Hersonissos on the Greek island of Crete, the Lyttos Beach Sports Center is one of the largest and most modern multi-sport training facilities in the Mediterranean. The complex is part of the Lyttos Beach Resort and offers a wide range of professional sports infrastructure for athletes, clubs, and holidaymakers.
