SANTA CRUZ DE LA SIERRA/STARNBERG, March 2, 2026
Nauhany Silva achieved the biggest milestone of her junior career on Saturday by winning the ITF J300 Santa Cruz title on clay in Bolivia.
The 15-year-old Brazilian, currently ranked No. 36 in the ITF World Junior Rankings, defeated top seed Sol Larraya of Argentina, 18 and ranked No. 20 in the world, in a high-quality and intense final. After dropping the opening set, Silva rallied to secure a 5-7, 7-6(3), 6-0 victory.
“It was a very good week. I think I managed to stay consistent throughout the matches. The final was very tough, but I was able to compete well and do things better in the important moments. I think that was key to the win. It’s very special to play here because I had already won a title in Santa Cruz before. I was very happy to come back and win my first J300, and even more so to also win the doubles title,” Silva said.
With the triumph, Silva now owns five titles on the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors, with the Santa Cruz J300 representing the highest-level victory of her career so far. She had previously won a J200 event, also in Santa Cruz, and finished runner-up at last year’s South American Championships in Colombia.
In addition to her singles success, Silva also lifted the doubles trophy. Partnering with Sol Larraya, her opponent in the singles final, the duo claimed the title on Friday with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Brazil’s Pietra Rivoli and Argentina’s Sofia Meabe.
Silva’s upcoming schedule includes the Brasil Juniors Cup (J300) in Porto Alegre from March 9 to 15, followed by the prestigious Banana Bowl (J500) in Gaspar from March 16 to 22, where she will look to build on her impressive momentum.
