MUNICH, February 19, 2026
The BMW Open by Bitpanda has secured another marquee name for its 2026 edition, set to take place from 11 to 19 April. World No. 10 Alexander Bublik has confirmed his early commitment to the prestigious clay-court ATP 500 event at the MTTC Iphitos in Munich.
For the first time in tournament history, the organizers can currently count on four Top 10 players in the field. Alongside the 28-year-old Kazakh, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, and Ben Shelton have already announced their participation in what will be only the second ATP 500 edition held in Munich.
Bublik is looking forward to his return to Bavaria. “I’m very happy to be coming back to Munich. It’s a tournament with great tradition, fantastic fans and a special atmosphere,” he said.
Bublik had to battle through qualifying at the event last year. In 2026, he will arrive as one of the top seeds, competing for the title and the coveted BMW winner’s car. After an outstanding 2025 season that included four tournament victories, Bublik finished the year ranked No. 11 in the world before breaking into the Top 10 for the first time earlier this season. He has continued his strong form in 2026, capturing the title in Hong Kong, reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open and most recently advancing to the semifinals of the ATP 500 event in Rotterdam.
Tournament director Patrik Kühnen expressed his delight at securing the Kazakh star. “We are very pleased to welcome Alexander Bublik to the BMW Open by Bitpanda 2026. Our goal is always to offer spectators entertaining and attacking tennis. With his often unpredictable and courageous playing style, he fits perfectly with our philosophy. The fact that we are currently set to host four Top 10 players for the first time makes us especially proud.”
