The tenth edition of the TennisBase Open in Oberhaching concluded with a singles final featuring home favourite Marvin Moeller, but it was top seed Paul Jubb who stole the spotlight. Inside the Federal Base and State Performance Centre of the Bavarian Tennis Association, the Brit claimed a convincing straight-sets victory to lift the 2026 title.

Moeller, ranked No. 446 in the ATP Rankings and champion here in 2022, once again drew strong local support. However, the 27-year-old faced his toughest challenge of the week against the 26-year-old Jubb, currently ranked No. 356 in the world and a former career-high No. 180.

Both players opened the match solidly on serve, each holding comfortably in their first two service games. As the set progressed, Jubb began to raise his level on return, breaking Moeller twice in succession. The Brit did not face a single break point throughout the opening set and confidently served it out.

Jubb remained firmly in control in the second set, not allowing his opponent a single game. Sealing the match with a service winner, the York native completed a dominant 6-2, 6-0 victory in just 49 minutes. The triumph marks his 13th ITF World Tennis Tour title, adding to his 2022 ATP Challenger success in Santa Cruz. With 15 ATP Ranking points earned, Jubb is set to climb nearly 30 places in the world rankings to around No. 325.

“I felt great on court again today,” said the delighted champion afterwards. “After my tough quarterfinal win against Niels McDonald, I responded the right way with strong performances in the semifinal and today’s final. It’s always my goal to stay in a tournament until the very end, but in tennis things don’t always go the way you want. That makes it even more special that it worked out so well this time and that I could fulfil my mission here as the top seed. I really enjoyed the week in Oberhaching. For a tournament of this category, it is extremely well organised and offers everything a player needs for a successful week.”

Positive tournament conclusion

During the trophy ceremony, Deputy Tournament Director Yannick Paul of the Bavarian Tennis Association reflected on two successful weeks at TennisBase Oberhaching, which also hosted the Dunlop Bavarian Junior Winter Championships the previous week. He thanked the partners, the organisation team and the many spectators who provided a fitting backdrop for the final.
