The favorites delivered when it mattered most at the Teréga Open Pau-Pyrénées. Raphael Collignon and Benjamin Bonzi both came through their semifinals and will face each other on Sunday for the eighth crown of the ATP Challenger Tour 125 tournament being held at the Palais des Sports de Pau.

In the first singles semifinal, defending champion Collignon was pushed hard by one of the stories of the week, French qualifier Clement Tabur. Trailing 4-1 early, the Belgian gradually turned the momentum, tightened his game and closed out a straight-sets win, 7-5, 6-4 in one hour and 33 minutes, moving within one victory of a historic back-to-back title.

The second semifinal saw Bonzi tested by the resilient German qualifier Henri Squire. Squire’s fighting spirit kept the contest close, but Bonzi’s experience at the highest level proved decisive in the key moments, allowing the Frenchman to secure his place in the final following a 7-6(6), 6-4 win in one hour and 32 minutes.

Saturday began with a thrilling doubles final, where the top-seeded pair Sriram Balaji of India and Austrian Neil Oberleitner overturned a slow start to defeat second seeds Jakub Paul from Switzerland and Czech Matej Vocel. After dropping the first set, Balaji and Oberleitner raised their level, saved a match point in a gripping super tie-break and sealed the title 1-6, 6-3, 13-11 in one hour and 16 minutes.
