The Burlington, Ontario native becomes the fourth Canadian to reach the Top 10 in singles and the seventh overall across the women’s and men’s tours, joining Carling Bassett-Seguso, Eugenie Bouchard, and Bianca Andreescu, as well as Milos Raonic, Denis Shapovalov, and Félix Auger-Aliassime.
Competing in Doha for the first time, Mboko has continued to check milestones off her list: her career record against Top 10 opponents now stands at 4–5 after beating Mirra Andreeva (No. 7) and Elena Rybakina (No. 3) this week. She is the first teenager to reach the Doha WTA 1000 semifinals since 2016, and she maintains a perfect 4–0 record in WTA Tour semifinals—an impressive blend of consistency and composure on the biggest stages.
In Saturday’s championship match, Mboko will take on Karolina Muchova.
