India and Korea, Rep. set up a fascinating Davis Cup Qualifiers 2nd Round clash after both nations recorded victories in decisive fifth matches in their Qualifiers 1st Round ties on Sunday.
Later in the day, Ecuador completed victory against 28-time Davis Cup champions Australia in Quito and now advance to a Qualifiers 2nd Round meeting with Great Britain in September.
Dhakshineswar Suresh was the hero of day two at India’s triumph over Netherlands in Bengaluru. Suresh partnered Yuki Bhambri to a doubles victory before returning to court to defeat Guy den Ouden in the decisive fifth match.
In Busan, Korea, Rep. recovered from 1-2 down to defeat Argentina, with Kwon Soonwoo defeating Thiago Agustin Tirante in the first reverse singles match to level the tie before former Australian Open semi-finalist Chung Hyeon overcame Marco Trungelliti to secure progress for the Koreans.

Korea, Rep. will host the Qualifiers 2nd Round tie against India in September – the winner of that meeting will become the first Asian nation to reach the Davis Cup quarter-finals since the introduction of the Final 8 in 2022.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Belgium and the United States recorded away wins against Bulgaria and Hungary, respectively, while Czechia defeated Sweden and France beat Slovakia.
