GSTAAD/STARNBERG, February 3, 2026

Anticipation is building in the Bernese Oberland as tickets for the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad go on sale today. There are plenty of reasons for fans to secure their seats: celebrating tennis legend Stan Wawrinka on his farewell tour, welcoming Top-5 star Lorenzo Musetti for his Gstaad debut, and enjoying the return of three former tournament champions—Alexander Bublik, Casper Ruud, and Matteo Berrettini.

The EFG Swiss Open Gstaad, scheduled for July 11–19, once again promises world-class tennis and highly emotional moments. The tournament will welcome two Top-10 players in defending champion Alexander Bublik (ATP 10) and Lorenzo Musetti (ATP 5). With four titles in 2025 and an outstanding start to the season, crowned by his title in Hong Kong, Kazakhstan’s Bublik has fought his way into the world’s elite.

A taste of Italy in the Swiss Alps

Currently top-seeded is Italian debutant Musetti, a master on the clay court renowned for his elegant one-handed backhand. He thrilled fans last season with a semifinal appearance at Roland Garros, a quarterfinal run at the US Open, and his first participation in the ATP Finals. Even more Italian flair will be on display in the Saanenland: Lorenzo Sonego (ATP 60) will try once again to secure his first match win in Gstaad, while compatriot Matteo Berrettini (ATP 58) knows the venue well.

The Roman returns for the fourth time to the place where he was champion in 2018 and 2024 and finalist in 2022. Berrettini remains one of the tournament’s most loyal crowd favorites, alongside two-time champion Casper Ruud (2021, 2022), currently ranked world No. 12. The Norwegian will once again aim high, as will France’s Arthur Cazaux (ATP 76), who was stopped only in the semifinals by Bublik last year.

Also making his Gstaad debut is rising star Valentin Vacherot (ATP 27). Fans will remember the Monegasque from last autumn and his surprising ATP Masters 1000 title in Shanghai.

Farewell to a legend

A clear highlight of the week will be “Stan the Man” Wawrinka (ATP 113). His 14th appearance in the main draw will also be his last in the Roy Emerson Arena. The 40-year-old legend has already shown his ambitions on this farewell tour with an impressive start to the season, reaching the final of the United Cup and the third round of the Australian Open.

It is already confirmed that the three-time Grand Slam champion will play his first singles match on Tuesday, July 14. Fans are encouraged to arrive even earlier, as on Sunday, July 12, the organizers are planning a farewell party in his honour, open to everyone.

BMW Switzerland drives players to the top

The organizers are also pleased to welcome a new strong partner: the BMW Group, which already has tennis partnerships in other markets and is now making its mark at the Gstaad event. “With BMW, we are gaining an internationally renowned partner that stands for quality, innovation, and a passion for sport—values that are a perfect fit for the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad,” said tournament director Jeff Collet, welcoming the new collaboration.
