Frederico Ferreira Silva of Portugal came agonizingly close to opening his season with an ATP Challenger final on home soil at the Jamor Tennis Complex, but the title match of the Indoor Oeiras Open 2  will instead be contested between last week’s champion Chris Rodesch from Luxemburg and Estonian Daniil Glinka.

With a place in his fifth ATP Challenger final on the line, World No. 265 Ferreira Silva led 6–4, 5–3 and held two match points on serve, as well as three more on return, only to see the match slip away. World No. 200 Glinka, a semifinalist at the event a week earlier, completed a dramatic comeback to win 4–6, 7–5, 6–4.

The home favourite was in control until he served for the match. A dip in serving efficiency at the crucial moment allowed Glinka to loosen up, and the Estonian, who had struggled from the baseline until then, seized his chance. Increasingly aggressive and particularly sharp in the key moments, Glinka showed nerves of steel, punished Ferreira Silva’s second serve and rode the momentum to a memorable turnaround.

“In my case, it happens more often that I save match points and then win, rather than having them and missing them,” Ferreira Silva admitted afterwards. “Being a semifinal at home, with a place in the final at Jamor at stake, hurts more than it would elsewhere.”

At 25, Glinka reached a Challenger final for the third time in his career, after finishing runner-up in Cassis, France and winning in Drummondville, Canada in November 2025. Awaiting him is World No. 209 Rodesch, who lived that same experience just a week ago.

The Luxembourger had split his previous finals before arriving in Jamor and winning the first Indoor Oeiras Open. Now he is one step away from joining a select group – Gastao Elias, Nuno Marques and Andrei Cherkasov – who have won two Challenger titles in consecutive weeks on Portuguese soil.

Rodesch secured his eighth straight victory, having received a second-round walkover due to Tiago Torres’ withdrawal, with a 6–4, 6–4 win over Canada’s Alexis Galarneau, a three-time semifinalist at this tournament including twice in 2025.

Rodesch and Glinka will meet for the first time on Sunday morning in the final that concludes a packed fortnight at the Jamor indoor courts, where the Portuguese Tennis Federation will return in a week’s time to host two consecutive WTA 125 events.

Kolar/Duda triumph in doubles

Later in the day, he doubles title went to Zdenek Kolar and Filip Duda. Playing together for the first time, the Czechs defeated Sweden’s Erik Grevelius and Adam Heinonen 6–3, 6–4 in a swift final.

For 29-year-old Kolar, it was his fifth title in Portugal (four Challenger doubles titles and one singles) and his 24th overall doubles crown on the circuit, while his compatriot, two years younger, celebrated the first title of his career in the category.

Kolar and Duda split €4,540 in prize money and collected 75 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
