The sixth edition of the Platzmann Open will be held next year as an ATP Challenger 100 event, marking a significant upgrade in the tournament’s status. The 2026 Platzmann Open will take place from August 2 to August 9, once again hosted at the facilities of TC Rot-Weiß Hagen.

With the tournament’s elevation from a Challenger 75 to a Challenger 100, the prize money is also set to increase. The total purse will rise to €160,000 – nearly double the amount offered at this year’s event.

“We made the decision quickly together with our sponsors and the club, as this upgrade is a fantastic opportunity to further develop the tournament,” said Tournament Director Rogier Wassen. “We are happy to take a later week in the tournament calendar. The strong spectator turnout this year showed just how much growth potential the event has in Hagen. Tennis at the Bredelle venue has a strong standing in the city.”

Mark Weigand, Chairman of TC Rot-Weiß Hagen, is also pleased to welcome the event back in 2026: “We are very excited to host the Platzmann Open again next year. This summer’s edition proved that world-class tennis is very well received in Hagen. With the upgrade, we can offer fans an even higher level of professional tennis.”

This year’s edition was won by Yannick Hanfmann, who overcame Dutchman Guy den Ouden in three sets to clinch his seventh ATP Challenger career crown.

Fans won’t have to wait long for ticket sales to begin. The presale will launch later this year at platzmann-open.com, with the exact date to be announced in due time.
