Laver Cup Media Release, November 18, 2025

World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz and World No.6 Taylor Fritz have confirmed they will compete at the ninth edition of the Laver Cup, taking place at The O2 in London from September 25-27, 2026.

The pair return to the competition following a blockbuster event in San Francisco, where Team World clinched a 15-9 victory over Team Europe to claim their third title – and first under Captain Andre Agassi.

Alcaraz and Fritz have already produced some of the most dramatic moments in recent Laver Cup history. In Berlin, Alcaraz prevailed in match 12 to secure the title for Team Europe, while in San Francisco Fritz responded with his first win over the Spaniard before going on to clinch victory for Team World against Alexander Zverev in another match-12 decider. They now come back to the Laver Cup stage ready to reignite their rivalry and battle for team supremacy.

The 2026 edition marks the Laver Cup’s return to London – the scene of one of the most unforgettable moments in tennis history. It was at The O2 in 2022 that Roger Federer brought his legendary career to a close in front of a packed London crowd alongside his longtime rivals Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.

Although Team World has claimed three of the last four Laver Cup titles, Team Europe leads the overall rivalry 5-3. Home support has proved decisive in five of the eight editions to date – an advantage Alcaraz and Team Europe will look to harness when the competition returns to London.

“To play at The O2 in London is going to be amazing,” said Alcaraz. “Having the chance to be in a team with players that normally I’m fighting against during the year is really unique and what makes me keep wanting to play Laver Cup every year. Hopefully we’ll have the crowd behind us and I’m really motivated to help Team Europe win the Laver Cup back.”

At just 22, Alcaraz has already achieved extraordinary milestones in the sport. Last week he secured the coveted year-end World No.1 ranking for the second time, having become the youngest year-end World No.1 in PIF ATP Rankings history back in 2022.

“Carlos brings unique talent, passion and confidence that lifts everyone around him. He is committed to his teammates and has an intense desire to win. I am excited to have him back,” said Team Europe Captain Yannick Noah.

Fritz, the highest-ranked American, has become a cornerstone of Team World, competing in five editions and playing a key role in all three of their titles.

“Laver Cup is such an exciting week for me,” said Fritz. “I love the team atmosphere, the energy you get playing these matches, when you’re playing for more than yourself is incredible. I’m excited to spend another week with Team World and we’ll be there with the goal to win.”

“Taylor embodies everything the Laver Cup is about — passion, grit, commitment to the team and rising to big moments,” said Team World Captain Agassi. “As we saw in San Francisco, he thrives on this stage, and brings so much to our team. I’m thrilled he’ll be back next year in London.”

“We are excited to bring the Laver Cup back to London,” said Tony Godsick, Laver Cup Chairman and TEAM8 CEO. “The O2 holds a special place in the history of our event and the sport, having hosted some of the Laver Cup’s most memorable moments. After a record-breaking edition in San Francisco, we anticipate another amazing competition in front of a packed arena.”
