ROTTERDAM/STARNBERG, November 17, 2025

World No. 3 Alexander Zverev will compete at the ABN AMRO Open for the seventh time in 2026. After Carlos Alcaraz, Zverev is the second top-3 player to confirm his participation. The 28-year-old German last appeared in Rotterdam Ahoy in 2023.

Alexander Zverev is one of the players who truly fits the philosophy of the ABN AMRO Open: giving young talents a stage early in their careers and building a connection with them,” tournament director Richard Krajicek said. “Zverev first came to Rotterdam in 2015 as a 17-year-old. The fact that he now includes us in his schedule again as the world No. 3 shows that he feels at home here.”

Twenty-four titles

Zverev has won titles on all surfaces throughout his career. Olympic Gold in Tokyo and the Nitto ATP Finals in 2018 and 2021 are among his career highlights. After breaking into the top 10 in July 2017, he remained there for five consecutive years. A severe ankle injury sustained during the Roland Garros semi-final kept him sidelined for a long period, but he has now been part of the world’s top 3 for over a year. With 24 titles, he is level with Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner in total tournament victories, with only Novak Djokovic ahead of them.

Zverev in Rotterdam

Alexander Zverev made his Rotterdam Ahoy debut in 2015. The taste for more came quickly: in 2016 he reached the quarterfinals, where Gaël Monfils proved too strong. Most recently, he played the tournament in 2023, when Tallon Griekspoor caused a major upset by defeating him in three sets.

Field with Alcaraz, Zverev and De Minaur

With Alcaraz, Zverev and De Minaur confirmed, three top-10 players have already been announced. Richard Krajicek said: “In 2026 we again aim to bring multiple top players to Rotterdam. That ensures top-level matches every single day. With the world No. 1, No. 3 and No. 7 in the field plus Tsitsipas and Griekspoor, we already have a strong line-up with several title contenders.”
