The fourth edition of the Sao Paulo Tennis Classic is set to bring Brazil’s 2025 women’s professional tennis season to a close in style. From November 16 to 23, the Kosmos Clube in Mogi das Cruzes will host Brazilian and international players competing for their final opportunity of the year to earn valuable ranking points on home soil — an ideal platform to launch into 2026 with momentum.

Mogi das Cruzes has a strong tennis tradition, having hosted ITF events since 2013. Many of today’s well-known players have competed there over the years. In 2023, for example, local fans watched a 16-year-old Joao Fonseca reach the semifinals before falling to Orlando Luz, who went on to claim his first singles title on Brazilian soil the following day.

Since transitioning to a women’s event in 2023, the São Paulo Tennis Classic has served as both a launchpad for emerging talents and a season-ending stop for players gaining valuable experience on the professional circuit.

This year’s main favorite is Thaisa Pedretti (WTA No. 415), who leads a strong Brazilian contingent that also includes Luiza Fullana, Julia Konishi, Sofia Mendonça, and Jennifer Dourado. On the international side, the spotlight falls on Carla Markus of Argentina — a 19-year-old ranked No. 605 and daughter of former world No. 36 Gabriel Markus — as well as Italy’s Martina Colmegna (28 years old; WTA No. 474, formerly inside the Top 350).

With its deep tennis roots, Mogi das Cruzes and the Kosmos Clube have become a key hub for women’s professional tennis in Brazil’s Alto Tietê region. The event gives domestic players the opportunity to earn ITF ranking points without the financial strain of traveling abroad, while also offering exposure to international competition. As the final event of the 2025 season, it provides a golden chance for athletes to boost their rankings and plan a stronger calendar for 2026.

Mark your calendars — tennis action in Mogi das Cruzes begins on November 16 and runs through November 23, with free admission for all tennis fans.

The tournament is organized by Instituto Sports through the Sao Paulo State Sports Department’s Sports Incentive Law, now in its 15th year. Sponsors include Shibata Supermercados, Stella Artois Pure Gold, Alupar, Taesa, Azul Linhas Aéreas (official airline), and INNI (official ball and apparel).

The Sao Paulo Tennis Classic is part of the ITF World Tennis Tour – W15 calendar and is sanctioned by the São Paulo Tennis Federation and the Brazilian Tennis Confederation (CBT).
