MONASTIR/STARNBERG, October 30, 2025
The ATP Challenger Tour is back in Africa this week for the inaugural Monastir Open being held at the Skanes Family Resort in Monastir, Tunisia.
Luka Mikrut, top seed of the ATP Challenger Tour 50 hard-court event, leads the quarterfinal line-up. After wins over Frenchman Corentin Denolly and Christoph Negritu of Germany, the World No. 160 from Croatia will take on eighth-seeded Spaniard Alejandro Moro Canas on Friday.
Mikrut is seeking his third career title on the ATP Challenger Tour following his triumphs in Como, Italy and Braga, Portugal earlier this season.
In the bottom half of the draw, Mert Alkaya is experiencing a fine run of form in the Tunisian Sahel area. The 25-year-old Turkish battled through the qualifying followed by victories over No. 2 seed Kimmer Coppejans of Belgium and Eliakim Coulibaly from the Ivory Coast. Up next for Alkaya will be Czech teenager Petr Burnclik.
In the remaining two quarterfinal matches, Italian veteran Lorenzo Giustino will play fifth-seeded Frech Dan Added and No. 6 seed Arthur Gea of France will face Remy Bertola from Switzerland.
