Erika Andreeva has claimed the title of the Hamburg Ladies & Gents Cup. The 21-year-old Russian defeated top-seeded Spaniard Kaitlin Quevedo 6-4, 6-2 in Sunday’s singles final.
In front of packed stands at the venue of the Hamburger Tennis Association, Andreeva, who didn’t drop a set en route to the championship match, won 65 per cent of her service points and broke her rival four times to secure victory in one hour and 22 minutes.

“I didn’t expect to win the title here,” Andreeva told Tennis TourTalk. “The first goal was to win as many matches as possible and this worked very well. It was hard work in the final but I went for my shots and I am very happy to make it, even in the tough moments.”
Andreeva lifted her fourth trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour, the triumph in Hamburg has been the biggest of her career so far. “It feels very positive. I didn’t realize that this has been the biggest title of my career but I try to be relaxed about it,” the World No. 333 said.
