Dalibor Svrcina captured the title at the inaugural Europcar Cancún Country Club, battling past Argentina’s Thiago Tirante 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 in a grueling singles final on Sunday. The eighth seed broke his opponent’s serve six times and, after three hours and 21 minutes of intense play, secured victory by winning just four points more overall.
The 22-year-old Czech reached the championship match with wins over Mexican wild card Alex Hernandez, Canadian qualifier Alexis Galarneau, third-seeded Jesper de Jong of the Netherlands, and in-form Peruvian Ignacio Buse.

For Svrcina, it marked his third ATP Challenger Tour trophy of the season, following earlier triumphs in Pune, India, and Barletta, Italy. It is also the fifth Challenger title of his career. With the win in Cancun, Svrcina breaks into the world’s Top 100 for the first time, a milestone in his young career.
The hard-court tournament offered a total prize pool of $200,000 and was held at the Cancún Country Club, located on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. It is one of the country’s most famous tourist destinations. Known for its white-sand beaches, turquoise Caribbean waters, and vibrant nightlife, the city attracts millions of visitors each year. Beyond its luxury resorts and bustling hotel zone, Cancún offers a rich cultural backdrop with nearby Mayan ruins such as El Rey and easy access to iconic sites like Chichén Itzá and Tulum.
The surrounding region also features natural wonders, including cenotes—freshwater sinkholes popular for swimming and diving. With its mix of relaxation, history, and adventure, Cancún remains a top destination for travelers worldwide.
