TODI/STARNBERG, August 15, 2025
Stefano Travaglia will contest the final of the Internazionali di Tennis Città di Todi | CERgo Tennis Cup after defeating Juan Carlos Prado Angelo 6-4, 6-2 in Friday’s semi-final at the ATP Challenger Tour 75 event organized by MEF Tennis Events. The former World No. 60 will face Timofey Skatov for the title, after the Kazakh overcame seventh seed Valentin Vacherot 6-4, 6-4 to reach his second straight final of the season.
With each round, the level of opposition has risen, but Travaglia has answered the challenge. The sixth seed has been one of the stars of the week, dropping just one set in his opening match en route to the championship clash. In the semi-finals, the World No. 233 handled Prado Angelo’s strong start, claiming victory in one hour and 25 minutes.

“This time he started really well,” Travaglia said. “But I managed to get on the same level quickly. Juan Carlos is a great talent, and I’m sure we’ll see him often at this level or higher.”
The final will be Travaglia’s 11th at Challenger level and his second of the season, after winning in Modena. The 32-year-old will be chasing his seventh career Challenger crown. “I’m playing more relaxed tennis – that’s what I’ve been working on with my coach Alessandro Motti over the last three months. I try to go on court smiling and enjoy myself. My goal was to at least match last year’s semi-final, so I’m happy. The flight to New York? I’ve already changed it three times,” he laughed. “But the truth is I really want to do well here. I hope to have the support of the crowd in the final.”
The Todi title match will mark the first official on-court meeting between Travaglia and Skatov. They were due to face off earlier this year in Rome, but Travaglia withdrew before the match due to injury.
Skatov chasing third Challenger crown
Unlike his previous matches, Skatov didn’t need three sets to advance, but his two-hour win over Vacherot was still a battle in humid conditions.

“It was really tough out there,” said the current World No. 308. “We had a lot of rallies early on, and both of us spent a lot of energy, but in the end I came through. How do you prepare for a final? There are no big secrets – first rest, to be at 100% tomorrow, then give everything on every point to try and win the title.”
Saturday will be Skatov’s seventh ATP Challenger Tour final. His first title at this level came in Parma in 2022, at a Challenger 125 event also organized by MEF Tennis Events.
Saturday’s programme will open at 6:00 p.m. with the doubles final, where Italians Filippo Romano and Jacopo Vasamì meet Daniel Cukierman and Johannes Ingildsen. The singles final will follow, not before 8:30 p.m., on the Centre Court of Tennis Club Todi 1971.
