TC Bredeney Clinches Tennis Channel Bundesliga Title In Germany

TC Bredeney

STARNBERG, August 11, 2025

With a 5-1 victory over FTC Palmengarten on the penultimate matchday of the Tennis Channel Bundesliga on Friday, TC Bredeney secured their second German team championship in club history.

“Congratulations to TC Bredeney. The players, team captain Torsten Rekasch, and everyone involved truly deserved this success,” said Dietloff von Arnim, President of the German Tennis Federation (DTB). “I’m particularly pleased that the club has been rewarded for increasingly relying on the best German players – and to win the title for the second time after 2023.”

A key moment in Bredeney’s title run was their 4-2 win over Badwerk Gladbacher HTC on Matchday 6. The top-of-the-table clash between first and second place was interrupted several times by rain, moved indoors, and finished shortly before midnight.

For a brief moment, newly promoted Rot-Weiss Köln added tension to the championship race. But that hope ended on Matchday 8 when Cologne lost to Kurhaus Lambertz Aachen, while Bredeney sealed victory away in Frankfurt.

“The title means a lot to us. The best team became German champion. We didn’t have the best singles players on paper, but we had the best team. That made the difference in the end, and we’re proud of it,” said TC Bredeney’s sporting director, Torsten Rekasch.

FTC Palmengarten and Blau-Weiss Aachen will drop out of the Tennis Channel Bundesliga. The final standings and all results from the 2025 season can be found at tennis.de.
