For the third consecutive year, the Canary Islands will host top-tier professional women’s tennis with the 2025 edition of the ITF W100 DISA Gran Canaria-Maspalomas, a prestigious $100,000 tournament on the ITF World Tennis Tour. Taking place from July 27 to August 3 at the Conde Jackson Tennis Club in Maspalomas. The clay-court event further cements the Canary Islands, specifically Gran Canaria and Maspalomas, as a global hub for elite women’s tennis.
Awarded by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) for excellence in organization and promotion of the sport, the tournament has gained a reputation as one of the top ITF events globally.

The W100 event offers valuable WTA Ranking points, attracting world-class talent aiming for Grand Slam entries. This year, players from over 30 countries are expected, including standouts Maiar Sherif (Egypt, WTA #86) and Arantxa Rus (Netherlands, WTA #94), both former champions in Maspalomas. Spain will be strongly represented by Leyre Romero, who arrives in strong form after recent European success.
Former WTA star and current Billie Jean King Cup captain Carla Suárez returns as the tournament’s ambassador for a fifth year. She will be on-site, mentoring the rising Spanish talents and bringing her experience to guide future stars.
During the tournament presentation, Yilenia Vega, Tourism Councilor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, emphasized the event’s importance in showcasing Maspalomas as “more than just sun and beaches—we’re a year-round sporting destination.”
Victor Navarro, advisor for Gran Canaria’s Sports Council, highlighted the economic and inspirational impact of hosting world-class athletes, saying: “This tournament is not just top-tier sport, it’s a window for young local athletes to dream bigger.”
Héctor Mateo, Director of Tourism Infrastructure for the Canary Islands, noted the government’s growing investment in sports tourism, €3.4 million in 59 sports events in 2024 alone.
Raquel Montes of Grupo DISA stressed their commitment to women’s sports and praised the tournament’s role in “positioning the Canary Islands internationally as a destination for elite sport and healthy living.”
Tournament director Oti Santana praised this year’s field, singling out promising local talent Kaitlin Quevedo, whose breakout 2023 performance has launched her more than 300 ranking spots upward and yielded eight ITF titles by age 19.
The tournament kicks off with a 32-player qualifying draw on July 27. Main draw singles and doubles begin July 29, with the doubles final set for August 2 and the singles final on Sunday, August 3 at 18:00.
Broadcast coverage includes live matches from the semifinals onward on Movistar+ channel ELLAS #V, alongside full tournament streaming via Marca’s YouTube, Sportradar, and Tennis Channel (USA).
The ITF W100 DISA Gran Canaria-Maspalomas 2025 is organized by Club Deportivo Conde Jackson with sponsorship from the Gran Canaria Island Council, Canary Islands Government, and San Bartolomé de Tirajana Municipality.
