RIO CLARO/STARNBERG, July 13, 2025
The Clube de Campo de Rio Claro set the stage for the final of the W35 Rio Claro – BRB/Engie Tennis Circuit, where Peru’s Lucciana Perez Alarcon captured the third title of her professional career, and her first of the season. The 20-year-old defeated Italy’s Miriana Tona in straight sets, 6–1, 6–2, in a match that lasted one hour and 35 minutes.
Currently ranked World No. 441, Perez Alarcon is projected to rise to a career-high No. 369 after collecting 35 valuable WTA Ranking points from her win. A collegiate player in Texas (USA), she chose to compete during her summer break—and it paid off. Along with the points, she takes home $4,860 in prize money.
“It was a good week for me, and I want to thank everyone who made this tournament possible. We were treated really well, and I felt at home,” said Pérez Alarcón after her win. “Congratulations to Miriana for her great week and for today’s match. We had a great atmosphere for the final, and I truly appreciate everyone who came out to support us.”
The Rio Claro leg of the BRB/ENGIE Circuit is sponsored by Colegio Objetivo de Rio Claro and Caprem Construtora. Hosted at Clube de Campo de Rio Claro, the event is sanctioned by the Federação Paulista de Tênis and the Confederação Brasileira de Tênis, and is part of the ITF World Tennis Tour in the W35 category.
