The Platzmann Open is set to deliver world-class tennis and top-tier entertainment once again as it enters its fifth edition this summer. From July 27 to August 3, 2025, fans can look forward to an exciting week of action at the venue of the TC Rot-Weiß Hagen.

The local crowd can expect a compelling mix of experienced professionals and promising young German talents. Among those confirmed for the main draw is 17-year-old Justin Engel, who recently turned heads with standout performances at the ATP tournaments in Stuttgart and Halle. Engel defeated several top-100 players and now aims to take the next step toward the elite ranks of the sport in Hagen.

“Justin Engel is one of the most exciting young German players, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to Hagen,” said Tournament Director Rogier Wassen. “He’s already shown great potential on the ATP Tour in recent months, and I’m sure fans will really enjoy watching him compete.”

Also joining the field is German Davis Cup player Yannick Hanfmann, who will use the tournament as a chance to gain valuable ranking points in his bid to return to the Top 100.

Headlining the draw is Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, currently ranked No. 92 in the world. Last year, he reached the final of the Platzmann Open and went on to score a memorable win over World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz at the US Open just a few weeks later.
