Sunday was a highly successful day for Slovenian tennis, with three players claiming titles across Europe. Tamara Zidansek won the ITF World Tennis Tour W75 tournament in Bucharest, Bor Artnak triumphed at the M15 event on home soil in Store, and Filip Jeff Planinsek emerged victorious at the M25 tournament in Marburg, Germany.

Tamara Zidansek (WTA No. 206) traveled to Bucharest straight after competing in Wimbledon, where she exited in the first round of qualifying. This time, the story was completely different. In Romania, she strung together five consecutive wins, culminating in a 6–1, 7–5 victory in the final over Italian Nuria Brancaccio (WTA No. 183). It marks Zidansek’s 18th career title on the ITF Pro Circuit.

“I’m really happy with this win. The past period has been quite difficult. Many things didn’t go the way I had imagined. To make it here and finally win a tournament again after such a long time means a lot to me. I hope I can build on this. The conditions weren’t easy—it was very hot. That usually suits me, but it’s never easy. I know how to handle the heat and play my best tennis even in such conditions,” Zidansek said after her win.

Bor Artnak (ATP No. 472) won the second Slovenian men’s ITF World Tennis Tour event of the year. At the first tournament in Ljubljana, he reached the semifinals, but in Store, he went all the way. He dropped just one set throughout the tournament and convincingly defeated last year’s champion, Italian Gianluca Cadenasso (ATP No. 466), 6–3, 6–1 in the final.

“I’m very happy. Every win means a lot to me, especially on home soil. I really feel great in Store—the organization was excellent. I think I played my best tennis this week, especially in the final, which was a top-level match for me, so I’m very satisfied. Now we move on to Litija, where I won last year. My goal at every tournament is to go all the way. I’m playing at home, and it’s important for me to enjoy it—when I enjoy myself, I usually play my best tennis. I’m really looking forward to the tournament in Litija,” said Artnak.

Filip Jeff Planinsek (ATP No. 691) also claimed a notable win, this time in Marburg, Germany. He defeated local player Florian Broska (ATP No. 533) in the final with a score of 6–2, 3–6, 6–4.

“This is my first title on the ITF World Tennis Tour. It’s been a fantastic week. In the first round I saved match points, and it was a similar story in the quarterfinals. There were some nerves in the final, but I still managed to win. Thanks to all the fans, sponsors, and my coach,” said Planinsek.
