All ties in the Play-offs will comprise three matches – two singles matches followed by a doubles match. All matches will be played as best-of-three tiebreak sets.
The seven group winners will progress to the 2026 Qualifiers. The remaining 14 teams will compete in the 2026 Regional Group I events.
In 2025, the Billie Jean King Cup Finals will transition from a 12 to an eight-team event to mirror the existing Davis Cup Final 8 format. The group format for both 2025 Qualifiers and Play-offs was introduced to accommodate that transition. Home-or-away ties will return in the Qualifiers and Play-offs from 2026 onwards.
A record 146 nations will compete in the women’s World Cup of Tennis this year.
A shared commitment to celebrating women in sports and promoting togetherness drives the Billie Jean King Cup’s growing network of global partners. The tournament is proudly supported by title partner Gainbridge®, alongside global sponsors including e.l.f. Beauty, Microsoft and 1xBet. The 2025 Billie Jean King Cup Finals will take place at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Centre Arena, which previously hosted the 2019 WTA Finals, from Tuesday 16 to Sunday 21 September.
