ITF Press Release, May 7, 2025
Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas and Croatia’s Donna Vekic are among the 12 players confirmed to be taking part in the 2025 Hopman Cup, which will be contested in Bari, Puglia, Italy on 16-20 July.
The players for the five teams joining host nation Italy have been announced at a press conference in Rome today. The Italian team, consisting of 2024 Billie Jean King Cup title winner Jasmine Paolini alongside Flavio Cobolli, was confirmed in a press conference in Bari last month.
The 12-player field includes a Grand Slam singles champion (Canada’s Bianca Andreescu), two Grand Slam singles finalists (Paolini and Tsitsipas) and three medallists from the Paris 2024 Olympic Tennis Event (Paolini, Vekic and Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime).
The full list of competing teams and players is below:
Canada – Bianca Andreescu and Felix Auger-Aliassime
Croatia – Donna Vekic and Duje Ajdukovic
France – Chloe Paquet and Arthur Fils
Greece – Despina Papamichail and Stefanos Tsitsipas
Italy – Jasmine Paolini and Flavio Cobolli
Spain – Marina Bassols Ribera and Roberto Bautista Agut
Tsitsipas said: “I feel like it’s important for every singles player to experience playing for their country, it creates a different sense of belonging and gives a different meaning to playing, when you make tennis a group sport. Representing your country creates a special feeling and every time I play Hopman Cup this feeling intensifies.”
Vekic said: “I’m really excited to be playing Hopman Cup again, I missed it last year, and I am really looking forward to representing Croatia again and having lots of fun.”
Iva Majoli, Tournament Director, said: “I’m very happy that we are hosting the Hopman Cup in Italy for the first time, and I’d like to sincerely thank the city of Bari, the Puglia region, and FITP for their incredible support in making this possible.”
Isidoro Alvisi, Vice President of the Federazione Italiana Tennis e Padel (FITP), said: “Italian tennis is at the top of the global scene, both in terms of results and organisational capabilities. We are proud to host a tournament with nearly 40 years of history, in which some of the greatest players in the world have participated. On Team Italy, we are happy to have two young talents: Jasmine Paolini, a standout in Italian women’s tennis, and Flavio Cobolli, who is making a name for himself on the men’s circuit. We will face very strong teams, but we are confident that we can hold our own.”
The first tie of the event will see host nation Italy take on Croatia, with Vekic and Ajdukovic aiming to secure a second consecutive Hopman Cup title for their nation. Vekic and Borna Coric defeated the Swiss team of Celine Naef and Leandro Riedi when the event was last contested, in Nice, France in 2023. The 2024 edition was postponed due to proximity to the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The 2025 Hopman Cup will be played at a custom-built tennis village spanning more than 10,000 square metres at the Fiera del Levante in Bari, with two hard courts and seating capacity for 5,000 spectators.
Tickets went on sale in April, with more than 3,000 tickets already sold. Tickets are available via the Hopman Cup website. The tournament will also be broadcast live on SuperTennis, the FITP’s TV channel which broadcasts over 80 tournaments throughout the year.
All ties begin at 17:30 local time and will consist of one men’s singles match, one women’s singles match and a mixed doubles match. The full schedule for the event is below:

Founded in 1989, the Hopman Cup spent its first 30 years in Perth, Australia, and was played in the opening week of the tennis season.
It was named after renowned Australian Davis Cup captain, Harry Hopman. In addition to a hugely successful playing career that saw him reach three Australian Open singles finals and win seven Grand Slam titles across men’s and mixed doubles, Hopman led the Australian team to a record 16 Davis Cup titles between 1939 and 1967. Hopman’s widow, Lucy, was a regular attendee at the Hopman Cup in Perth until her death at the age of 98 in 2018.
